A web programmer yesterday.

First there was binary, then punch-cards… and now, Hyper Text Markup Language!  Having learnt some basics of HTML this afternoon I am both amazed and aghast at it.  You have to say Tim Berners-Lee did a good job in creating a universal language for writing digital information sheets, i.e. webpages, to be read by computers anywhere.  On the other hand… it seems bizarre in an age of blue-sky interactive etc. multimedia, to be creating portals not with some virtual sculptor’s toolbox, but line-by-line, bracket by bracket, the same way that men in lab coats did 50 years ago.  So I am yet to be loving the HTML.
